We are looking for some young or middle age ATV riders to learn about writing trail grants.
Grant writing is critical to getting the funding that keeps our trail system running and maintained.
While our Trail Master is doing a great job, he is turning 70 and wants to pass his knowledge on to the next generation.
This is a challenging job, but also very rewarding.
At the end of the season, you get to see the results of your work being appreciated by thousands of grateful riders.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
All other software packages that are used are freely available online programs.
Construction experience is not required but would be a plus.
You do not have to live in the area so if you have the computer skills and are a weekend visitor to our trail system, that works for us!
Time commitment: 80 hours per year, about half of that time is spent in the spring and early summer preparing the grants.
The remainder of the time will be in the summer and fall processing the grant billing paperwork.
Training would mostly be done via online Zoom sessions with some in person field work.
